“Don't you play dumb with me,” Fredrinn snaps. “You're the kid who tried to rob me the other day.”
“No, that ain't me.” Claude’s toothy smile shifts into a smug smirk. “I’m not the kid who tried to rob you, boss. I’m the kid who robbed you.”
If Fredrinn was mad before, now he’s seething. He still manages to hold himself back, though, and doesn't press down on Claude's windpipe any harder than before. “The Golden Bullet,” he says and spits on the ground.
“That would be me, sí.”
“You think this is fucking funny?”
“I owned Fredrinn Vance the appraiser. Yeah, I think that's pretty fucking funny.”
