Summary
Ilya loves sex.
Because it’s the most natural, pleasurable activity that any two (or more) consenting adults can engage into that doesn’t come with a defined process, or a one-size-fits-all way of doing it. It’s a dialogue, a very unique give and take between the people involved, a creative, singular experience each time.
He also never repeats sexual encounters with anyone.
There are two exceptions to that rule. Svetlana, and Shane Hollander.***

Ilya just wanted more time.
He just wanted the opportunity to pause a bit, to take his time with Shane’s body other than in the confines of a dark hotel room, and to get to see a bit more of Shane’s intriguing mind. He thought it might help quench the unexplained thirst for him, that he has for no one else.

Summary
At the rink, during the games, Ilya is focused, his goal is clear, and he is locked in on it.
When he’s out of the ice, Ilya feels like a lion in a cage, like he’s pacing around an enclosure that is too small, too tight, too stifling as he counts down the days until the next Raiders’ game against the Metros.
