As said in the title, this is an au where Howard gets chosen by Morose and Phillip is left behind. Almost a year later, Phillip hears of rumors that the doctor is experimenting on his crew and goes to the island to find Howard, not knowing of the horrors he's about the face, the revelations he'll realize, and whether or not he'll come out all of this stronger and with his friend by his side again, or succumbing to the island's horrors himself, one way or another.
