Summary
The hot tub wasn’t big to begin with. Clearly made to be enjoyed by just Pyro, perhaps to relax exhausted muscles after long days wandering the woods or hunching over books. It was just large enough to fit the four of them, though they would be a bit squished when the girls joined them.
All this to say, when Pyro slipped while attempting to sit, it’s not exactly a surprise they landed on top of Scott.

Summary
Numbness had set in not long after returning to the academy. It was a familiar cold, from long before the awakening of his magic. It was supposed to be different this time.
Scott had been going through the motions since then. Much had been happening, discovering new rituals, trying them with Drift, exploring with her and the others that joined up with them throughout the day. And through it all, there seemed to be a wall blocking him off. He was watching the world, his own actions, from a step back, the numbness washing everything out to shades of grey.
The others are still here, he reminded himself

Those relationship tags are chosen for a reason! Drift and Scott have a good friendship moment in this fic, it's important to me. From the 5/16/26 and 5/17/26 streams when Pyro asks Scott to leave the academy with him, and the aftermath the next day.

Summary
The rest of the world may as well not exist for all he would notice, as Pyro turns at the sound of Aurora and locks eyes with Scott.
He looked... there were dark shadows below his eyes, partially blocked by his tangled hair. Their already lithe frame had crossed the line into worryingly thin. His clothes, usually well maintained (aside from the occasional scorchmark), were ratty and torn, the red color Scott knew they usually held barely visible under the grime, and he looked so, so tired.
Despite all that, he was the most beautiful sight Scott had ever seen.

Pyro (and Maddy) gets rescued while Scott is off curing Aurora of her heat sickness, and they have a very emotional reunion on his return.Series
