Summary
Ryland Grace is having A Week. First he is practically kidnapped from his place of work, sent into one of the finest labs he has ever been in, and told he is going to be first contact with an alien.
Except he's already been first contact with an alien. It's just that no one knows that.
Confused, curious, and with minimal supervision, Ryland Grace makes the breakthrough of the century. What he doesn't know is that he's about to become a part of something much bigger. In the process something he thought he lost will be found, and maybe if he can avoid making a mess of things, he will get to come home.

Summary
Project Hail Mary continues to chug along. Grace is just glad he has his person back. But there is a long road ahead before the launch can happen, and nothing is guaranteed.
Grace would like it if things could be guaranteed.
Between threats, people who piss him off, and the demands of saving the world, Grace would really like it if he could just get a break.
A mandated work trip will have to be enough.
