Summary
Hands shoved lazily in his pockets. A smile that looked like it lived to tease and prod like no one's business.
Something in DJ just snapped. He pushed Superfish back, holding him hostage against the wall. "You think it's funny?!" he replied acidly. His hands came to rest upon Superfish's waist, pressing him further in. "Is this funny?" Not so fun, is it, he thought, to be on the other side. He pushed up on his toes a little, whispering in Superfish's ear. "Still funny?" One hand still resting on Superfish's waist, he raised the other and tangled it in Superfish's collar, pulling him closer.

Summary
And he takes both the tangible and the intangible. He learns the meaning of indulgence. He carves out a single earring from molten witch glass—his one connection to a world he will never fully escape. There are warm showers, swathed in gentle steam and jasmine. Slices of juicy meat that melt softly in his mouth in an explosion of flavors and sensations.
And then, a human barges into this sanctuary of a life he has created for himself. Flashes of red lightning. A blackened hand.
Everything changes.
Again.

Eugene scoffed. "We don't need a break, Deej." He scowled at Mandy, who pursed her lips. "What we need is for someone—" Another pointed look at Mandy. DJ winced. Even Georgie was saying something about them not fighting. "—to stop disregarding everything someone else says."
"Allow me to interject." And of course, now Superfish wanted to try his hand at this too.
And so, the competition for the Occult Club’s Captaincy begins. Who will win?

Summary
“Dhananjay, are you feeling alright?” Superfish’s lips drew into a thin line. “We shouldn’t be out in the open if you are unwell.”
DJ shook his head a little. “Do you just like saying my name now that you finally know how to say it right?”
Superfish smirked, tilting his head downward to whisper into DJ’s left ear.
“What can I say?” The hand that had been holding onto DJ’s shoulder tightened. “It’s a beautiful name,” he murmured.
DJ and Superfish visit a playground, and within the whimsical nature of this excursion are the underpinnings of the complexities of growing up.

Summary
He let DJ think about it for some time, content in tracing random patterns onto his knees. DJ had told him that was something parents often did for their children, when he saw him do the same to Aloo. So if he was thinking about his parents... this would help, right?
"She always got up freakishly early in the morning," he said, sounding nostalgic. "I'd wake up and the whole place would already feel fresh. Every day, she'd draw a different pattern right up front." He held his hands at a short distance, palms facing each other. I'm talking about the space that leads up to the house."
"I got that," Superfish nodded. DJ continued. "It's a traditional thing. She used to make it with rice. I don't really know how that's done though."
DJ’s having a rough day. Superfish helps.
