It was…horrific. Blood drenched his palms, the sleeves of his jacket, his face…especially on the blades of his hatchets. My heart stopped as I looked at him carefully step towards me, as if I were prey. Toby’s brown eyes got even darker as his grip loosened from the hatchet in the boy’s back.
Did I ever mention that I find blood on men extremely attractive?

“What do you regret the most?” My eyebrow twitched. I couldn’t really think of anything too significant at the moment.
A reluctant smile spread across my face seeing his brown locks blow in front of his eyes. It’s crazy that we spent so much time a part, and yet, he still makes me feel the same teenage wonder I once did when we first met.
“I’m sure if I thought hard and long enough, I’d find something.” Toby chuckled, the base of his voice deeper now than it was a few years ago. “I have plenty.” He whispered, the whistle of the wind louder than he had been.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” He looked into my eyes, a hint of sadness settling in his own. He scanned over each of my features, beginning with the shape of my cheekbones. Adoration crossing his face for a second, hiding the negative feelings. “I regret leaving you.” My heart skipped a beat as he reached over to tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear. Toby’s index finger lingered a bit, causing my earring to sway. “You weren’t given much of a choice, Toby.” He sighed, knowing that I was right. But it didn’t make him feel much better about himself.
“I know.”
