Summary
There are certain things that Richie…struggles with—that he always has struggled with. Reading the room, for one, or reading peoples’ emotions. His own volume is another big one. But the biggest one of the bunch is routine. His parents stopped reminding him every night about his teeth when he was six. By then, he’d done it every night for years, so that (in combination with his dad’s job) meant that they thought it was a given he’d remember on his own. He didn’t.

Eddie's fist hits the door once, twice, three times. There’s a brief pause, then footsteps. The sound of a movie continuing to play. And then, finally, the door opens.
Richie looks different than he did at lunch. Less angry, calmer. He changed his clothes, too.
“What the hell do you want?”
Eddie shifts uncomfortably. “To talk.”
“About?”
“About the fact that you punched me in the fucking face, asshole.”
