Summary
Zeitnot (literally “need of time”) - in chess, a situation where a player is pressured for time, unable to properly consider next moves, thus ending up at a strategic disadvantage.
A young man and an avid reader of Ascendance of a Bookworm unexpectedly finds himself in Yurgenschmidt, albeit in a different place and in a different time. Not even his noble status and foreknowledge would make it easy for him to survive the storm to come, and being in a child's body certainly doesn't help.

Summary
As Zeitnot (the main work, see the series) is geographically and chronologically separated from the main series, it has quite a few OCs and original settings.
