"Why are you here?" he asks, finally.
Scar merely smiles. "I missed you."
"No," Grian immediately denies. "You didn't."
The red eyes narrow, and Scar tilts his head to the side. "How come?"
"You know why."
Based on the way the red eyes relax slightly, Grian knows Scar knows. Anyone who isn't absolutely mental would.
After all, a hunter can never love its prey.
OR:
Grian is a vampire hunter. Him and Scar were in a loving relationship, until Grian found out Scar was a vampire. Months later, Grian finds him waiting in his apartment.

"You know that I'm sorry"
"I'm afraid sorry doesn't quite cut it," is what Grian hears Scar respond.
He looks up again, and he sounds just as frustrated as he feels."Well, what do you want me to say? That I'm not sorry? I am."
Scar takes a slow step closer — and when Grian doesn't move, he closes the rest of the distance until they're standing face to face.
"I believe you are," Scar says. "But it doesn't undo what happened."
OR:
The Vampire Protection Institution has organized a manhunt to take Scar back into their custody. It goes just about as well as you'd expect.

He notices a piece of paper sticking out from one of the pockets inside of their jacket. Scar squints, picking the paper up and unfolding it to reveal what seems to be a note of some kind.
Scar.
If you see this, it's gone too far. Meet me at the gas station.

Scar nearly falls backwards with the sheer surprise of seeing the familiar handwriting on the page. And then he feels almost giddy, like a school boy before his first prom. Only, he's never been to prom, and it's been ages since he attended school.
He should probably get changed.
OR:
It's been ages since Scar last saw Grian, and he misses him terribly. Conveniently, Grian also wants to see him — but for a very different reason.

"Did something happen?" Mumbo asks, slowly. Already wary, clearly.
"It's Scar," Grian deadpans. "Of course something happened."
"Well, I've gotta know now. Did he seek you out?" he asks, and it's kinda weird how serious he suddenly sounds.
"Technically last night was me seeking him out," Grian admits, already feeling the regret in his bones. "But a few weeks ago, yes."
Mumbo's eyes grow wider. "Did he… try anything?"
"I mean, kind of?" Grian says, laughter trailing off into something more bitter. "If breaking into my apartment counts as trying something, then yes."
A pause.
"It definitely does, yeah," Mumbo responds.

The day after Scar feeds from Grian the second time feels a little different...
