Summary
Though Will and Louis play the disparate societal roles of queen and tactician respectively, they are adamant equals in all possible matters, titles be damned, and sincere in their mutual care. Nevertheless, their complicated history invites gossip-mongers to pass a great deal of rumors under the table: worried whispers that Will has been locked into a loveless marriage, hushed speculation that Louis is the same old tyrant who only sows destruction, crazy theories about what transpires between them behind closed doors.
The appeal of gossip is its fantasticality. However, in this case, Will prefers the reality: nothing is more romantic than choosing to place all her faith in the lover who transforms violence into pleasure.

Summary
For as long as he can remember, Will has been a vampire. It’s as constant as the beating of a heart. Though vampires are touted as insatiable demons incapable of restraint, Will manages just fine — he trusts his companions with his secret, and they trust him with their blood. His vampirism hasn’t endangered anyone yet.
But Louis, as always, incites issues — the relevant one being that his blood is the most enticing blend to ever grace Will’s nose. And, forebodingly, after the party presents their replica of Drakodios to Louis, he invites Will to meet him outside Altabury’s opera house. Alone. In the dead of night.
It has all the makings of a trap — but it’s one Will decides to walk into so his true loyalties are not discovered. He fears a secret or two will be flayed; he doesn’t expect Louis to give Will the opportunity of an immortal lifetime.

Summary
Now that Louis and Will have actualized their utopia and married each other, the logical next step is having children. Louis insists upon it, and has carefully monitored Will to guarantee the chances of impregnation, heedless of whatever feelings Will may harbor regarding the matter — and it’s fine, because Will doesn’t have any. He is happy to provide. He can endure it. He will be perfect.
