Robin listened to Jaxon breathe. Listened to the faint beginning of the city outside. Listened to his own heart calm down where it had jumped too fast.
Then Jaxon pressed a kiss into his hair.
“Morning, Robin.”
The sheer gentleness of it almost did him in.
Robin squeezed his shirt. “Morning.”
Jaxon tipped Robin’s chin up with two fingers, slow and easy, giving him plenty of time to pull away. Robin didn’t. He couldn’t seem to. Jaxon’s gaze dipped to his mouth, then came back up like he was asking a question without words.
Robin narrowed his eyes a little. “Still haven’t brushed your teeth.”
Jaxon’s expression turned solemn. “A terrible burden.”
Robin snorted.
