Description:

Clea is no longer held captive at the Flying Manor, but her freedom has come with a heavy cost — her humanity. She now remembers having lived two lives, one as the painted Clea Dessendre, another as a monster obedient to a Paintress wearing her own face. Neither is a life Clea can ever fully return back to, with so much overpaint on her that Maelle could simply not remove.

But what yet remains of her family seems to want their eldest sister back, and because Clea still wants to be something, she might as well try settle back into a human life for the sake of her siblings — and if she can't do that, she'll just have to carve out a new path for herself.

Notes:

Canon-divergent AU where painted Clea can be rescued by removing the overpaint, but only enough to severe the tie between her and her Paintress counterpart. The Clea that emerges out of this experience is much like Maelle in the way that she remembers both of her lived lives, but due to her remaining overpaint her existence is closer to a white Nevron than any of the painted humans.

The entire series of mostly oneshots really revolves around the concept of pClea essentially being a Nevron, and what it means to her and the people around her that she's become something other than human. Despite the unconventional premise I take my monsters very seriously, and this is a very earnest attempt at a character study :)

This will be BOTH Life to Paint and Life to Love endings in spirit, though both considerably changed due to the impact of what pClea's rescue would mean to Verso and Maelle.
