He shivers from under the many blankets. He hated the days that preceded his heat; it was always the most stress-inducing, fatigued days of his life. The last time he had gone through his heat was many years ago; long before he ever knew the Sage.
He’d never mated before.
Traditionally, he would spend maybe a week or two - perhaps even three - in his heat. He would nest and whine and beg for pleasure, but there had been no Alphas for him to rely on. When he and the Sage had been… Together, he’d thought stupidly, Everything will be fine next time. Perhaps Sage and I can talk about mating…
But then, of course, the incident. When Sage had gone into a rut and got it into his thick skull that he needed to mate with the blond. Then they broke up and didn’t see each other…
So, alone.
That’s how he would have to spend the rest of his heats. Alone, as always.
