Summary
Maybe his five hours of sleep were talking, but Enjin could have sworn that for the blink of an eye light had reflected from the pillar. He narrowed his glowing eyes when nothing was to be seen, except grey stone sprayed with a few tags. Boring. Nothing out of the ordinary. He'd seen them a thousand times, and yet, tattooed fingers tightened around his umbrella.
Not quick enough, as Enjin soon noticed. One split second the hairs in the back of his neck raised, he spotted a whisk of black, followed by the impact of force to his chest. Not fast enough, his own voice yelled at him when he dodged, and then the crush of sand and a disgusting thud echoed through his skull when his back crashed into the ground. Vision whited, limbs went slack, and the blonde found his mouth agape once light returned to his eyes. What. The. Heck.
_____Canon divergence universe - the world is mostly the same, the Cleaners exist, Rudo exist, but the og plot has no major relevance for this story's plot. An incident in a contaminated zone, and the pollution left Zanka's lungs damaged, how does his life look three years afterwards?

Summary
With a fragile truce between Raiders and Cleaners, Corvus had picked Jabber as Zanka's new teacher. So far, he'd always managed to return from the old cave system they held their sessions in, either consisting of sparring or Jabber's education on the vilest of poisons.
And still, he kept on losing. Time after time, he found himself on the ground, holding Jabber back with Lovely Assistaff before his strength left him, or a new fit of coughs announced itself, and he inevitably was forced to yield.

I've had this in my drafts for a while. Set in the same universe as Different Greens of Spring, in the sense that Zanka suffered a lung injury from contamination after a trash beast accident. But what if it was Janka? They're like 23-ish here, training together, and I read until the doll fest in the meantime, then got inspiration from Zanka's backstory.
Not sure if this is complete or if I'll add some stuff later on

"Yes, Mr... Enjin." He heard the discomfort in her voice, having to call him by his first (and only) name. "I'm sorry, we are calling about Rudo. You'll have to pick him up, principal's office, your son's been caught fighting with another student."
Great. Just what he fucking needed after a day of arguing with half-grown kids on the job. But, being his guardian, he could hardly refuse. Thus, he muttered a 'be there in ten' into the speaker, hung up before she had any chance to add more and, on his way out, called Bro to let him know he'd be alone for the rest of the day. At least that man had his kids in check, and would manage their job just as well on his own. He'd buy him drinks for the hassle, next time they went out together, Enjin set a mental note to make sure.

Two drinks in, and Enjin had reached the stage where he was going from irritating straight to unbearable, his voice unconsciously raising to the point where a few people around them threw him dirty glances.
