Summary
It must be the oxygen deprivation getting to him, but for a moment, he sees the situation unfolding from outside of his body. He sees himself pressed into the wall, trying to explain himself. He sees Richard, all torn up about Lisa Mills of all people—or, well, he supposes that Richard’s actually all torn up about Justin, getting in his face to find out where he’s been, what he did, and with who. In Justin’s anoxic haze, he gets the absurd idea that Richard would almost look like his jealous lover to an outside observer. The thought would make him laugh if he could spare the air, but the black spots dancing in his vision hiss at him to press the point.
Justin ordinarily prides himself on his ability to keep Richard happy and relatively compliant, but there’s a deeper part of him that loves to push the other boy’s buttons, and Justin can’t even breathe, let alone hold that part of himself back right now.
“We kissed,” he says. Then, “What does that have to do with us?”

Summary
He wakes up before Richard, blinking his eyes open to a momentarily unfamiliar room awash in grey morning light. Thunder rumbles in the distance, and he heavily considers settling back against Richard’s warmth and letting the storm lull him back to sleep, but he knows that it isn’t a good idea. He manages to worm his way out of Richard’s hold, freezing when the boy lets out a dissatisfied grumble. He turns around to watch Richard’s brow furrow and his hand spread out against the sheets, seeking Justin’s body heat, but then he rolls over onto his stomach—onto Justin’s side of the pillow—and settles back into sleep. Justin collects his clothes off the floor and redresses, hesitating before taking Richard’s t-shirt off and setting it on the bed.
He swipes the CD when he leaves.
