Summary
Lloyd Garmadon, son of the evil Lord Garmadon, was raised by his father in his volcanic lair, exploring his mysterious powers and the way of the dark arts. In high school, he is a social outcast and subject of the city’s ire. In battle, he is his father’s right hand, aiding him in his mission to remake Ninjago in their image. Balancing his life can be hard, but with nobody else in it, it’s surprisingly manageable. Even if the loneliness gets suffocating.
Kai Jiang-Smith grew up parentless, working day and night to provide for his sister and himself. Now, he fights for Ninjago as the newest member of the Secret Ninja Force, upholding the balance and the way of the ninja. Beloved by all and surrounded by a new family, Kai believes he has everything he could ask for.
As their two worlds merge, the status quo is shaken. Lloyd is incessantly racked by the knowledge that he’s everything Kai thinks he isn’t. But with each day, cutting ties becomes less and less of a possibility, even as disaster looms over every shared moment.
Or: Kai adopts villain!Lloyd into his family while the ninja deal with their own issues. Expect lots of friendship shenanigans and a healthy dose of high school + secret identity drama.
