Summary
Twins Emma and Matt have been on the run for a long time. Like many other runaways, they hear the siren call of Santa Carla. A place to disappear in.
All Emma wants is safety. She doesn't know that Santa Carla is a terrible place to look for it.
They arrive with the intention of keeping their heads down. Should be easy enough.Then Emma and Matt cross paths with four locals who have made Santa Carla their personal playground. They're loud, wild, reckless, dangerous, and exactly the kind of trouble Emma knows better than to invite into her life. Keeping her distance should be easy.
But Emma has learned the hard way that danger doesn't always come from strangers. Sometimes, it comes from the person who claims to know you best.
Strangers are the least of her problems.
