Summary
“Is there any chance you could be pregnant?” Mel asks.
That stops him cold. The protein bar turns to sludge in his mouth, and he forces himself to swallow it before he throws up again. “No,” he says automatically.
Mel sighs. “Okay, that’s a relief. Not that--”
But Dennis isn’t listening anymore, because he’s wracking his brain trying to remember everything he learned during his OB rotation. “When does morning sickness start again?” he blurts, cutting Mel off.
“Four to six weeks, usually,” Mel says cheerfully.
“Right.” His mouth has gone impossibly dry, his face burning and bloodless all at once.Or: Dennis and Robby hook up once, and four weeks later Dennis seems to have a mysterious stomach bug...

Summary
Hi Rebekah. I don’t know if you even care, but I’m calling to tell you I have cancer"-- is the first line of the voicemail. Dennis involuntarily throws his phone to the floor, which is fortunately carpeted. Trinity never knew his deadname, not that it matters. “Fuck,” Dennis whispers.
Trinity clamps one arm around him; the other hand is typing furiously on her phone. She finishes and leans her head on his shoulder. “I’m sorry, Huck.”
They stay that way for a few minutes, Dennis’s mind looping, wondering what his mom said next. Thinking that it’s like she can tell that he finally felt happy, and just had to fuck it up.
The door opens and Robby comes in. “Hey,” he says, voice a little hoarse. Without hesitating, he walks to the couch and sits on Dennis’s other side, sandwiching him between the two people he loves the most.
