Summary
When you meet your soulmate, everything else is supposed to pale in comparison, subtle enough that you’ll think to yourself maybe, just maybe, something is going on. A buzz, they say, will spread under your skin, only to be soothed by the next time you touch your soulmate. It’s a little bit of an odd system, but it works; people usually reconnect with their soulmate within a few weeks of meeting them for the first time. Who wouldn’t want to be with someone that completes the other half of their soul? Who would deny themselves a kiss that feels better than anyone else’s?
There were legends, of course, tall tales of denying a bond for so long that it became intense, two lovers denying themselves the confirmation of being soulmates that the bond had crackled and fizzed, forcing them into states of fervor and need so deep it boiled down to love in its deepest, most obsessive, possessive form. It created many movies and stories, theories on what could happen, but no one would ever be so stubborn and idiotic as to deny themselves to test it.
