Summary
George supposed there was nothing wrong if someone wanted to send him flowers every two weeks. They were slowly becoming a staple of his kitchen. He liked how they looked, and it seemed to brighten up his dismal little house.
So when another two weeks had passed, George went home from work excited to wait for his flowers. What he was not excited about was the vase of new flowers already sitting on his kitchen counter when he walked into his house.
This feels like it should be a problem.

Summary
Max didn't have to know George to know that he didn't deserve the haunting look that sometimes took over his face when he would stare off into the void. The primal urge within him wanted to fix it, to simply do whatever it took to make the other man smile.
Life, however, didn’t work that way. Even if he tried to make him laugh, George would probably just politely walk away.
So he did the next best thing and let it go. Until he was in the parking lot, about to leave, and saw George getting into his own car. Max didn’t think it was possible for the man to look any more tired than he did earlier in the day, but he was proven wrong at the sight of him.
Max followed him home.
