Summary
Ness went to take another sip when Kaiser plucked the beer pint from his hands, holding it above his head.
“Hey, give that back!” Ness reached for it but couldn’t grab it.
Ness made a final swipe at the pint, his stool tipping him towards the bar. A seasoned Ness-caretaker by now, Kaiser dropped his foot on the rung on the back rung, steadying him with a thunk. The movement would’ve sent him tumbling backwards, but Kaiser already had a hand on his spine to keep him upright.
He could practically feel the starry-eyed look Ness was giving him right then.
He sighed. “What is it?”
“You saved me!” Ness beamed.
From a bruised chin, maybe.
OR
Ness gets extra affectionate when he's drunk. Kaiser likes soaking up the attention.
