Summary
Months after Buck pulls Eddie from the wreckage of a sinking plane, Eddie walks into Station 118 for his first shift and discovers that the firefighter neither of them managed to find is now his new partner.
When Buck disappears behind a blocked fire door and his air supply fails, Eddie finally gets the chance to return the favor.
--
"Hey," the man says, holding out his hand after a moment of hesitation. "I'm Eddie Di—""Eddie Diaz."
Eddie freezes, his hand still extended between them as he stares at Buck's face.
"...Buck?"
Or:
What if Eddie walked into the 118 and found the firefighter who had saved him from a plane crash—only to have to return the favor before his first shift was over?
