Summary
Many drivers had envisioned the Monaco race playing out differently. Max Verstappen encountered a major issue with his car and didn't even complete 200 meters of the Grand Prix; he couldn't believe it himself and was at a loss as to the cause. There was a high number of DNFs and penalties incurred upon entering the pit lane—allegedly because the drivers were going too fast. George’s race was an absolute nightmare: a penalty at the pit entry, a lack of coordination within Mercedes, and finally a drive-through penalty. The Briton was furious—with his team, and to some extent, with himself.

Summary
The Italian GP went very well for George Russell—at least until Kimi overtook him shortly before the end. The Briton was left with a bitter taste in his mouth as he crossed the finish line in second place. George had been on pole position; he had been leading the race. He was supposed to win. There could be no more humiliating way to reach the podium than to be booed by the Italian fans. Sure, he wasn't everyone's favorite driver, but the fans' behavior was more than unsporting. That evening, Russell decided to go to a club with the intention of getting drunk. Insults from the Italian Formula 1 fanbase—and even some shoving—only strengthened his resolve. Unexpectedly, another driver intervened in the situation—someone George never would have imagined would come to his aid.
