Summary
Nobody is ever the same person they were as they grow older. Age, experience and wisdom can change who you are; Pain, hate, sadness can have the same effects if allowed to seep and linger within you. These same things can cause someone to revert to who they once were, for better or worse.
For the Holiday family, they were going to experience both sides of change.
