Summary
In mid-December Jessica Delhaney, teacher, 27, wife of an NYPD beat cop, goes missing. A massive manhunt follows, Sherlock and Joan are called in to consult and soon it becomes obvious that nothing about this case is as it seems. A cryptic warning comes from Newgate telling them to be careful, and that the killer has a type. What they don't know is just how accurate that assessment truly was.

Summary
Six months after Moriarty's escape from Newgate, Joan Watson is trying to move on from the events following her escape. Things are improving in small steps, as she thinks they should be. A body washes up on Brighton Beach on the Fourth of July and Joan forgoes baseball with her brother to find herself and Sherlock tangled between two feuding criminal organizations. Young girls from poor European countries, lured in by the promise of a better life, are being forced into sex work. Their body on Brighton Beach the first of a string of murders that send Joan and Sherlock down into the seedy underground of New York to find a killer acting on orders to liquidate the organizations' girls before it's too late.

Summary
Joan Watson has an open invitation to play Moriarty's game, should she feel so inclined. The problem is that someone else is playing a much more dangerous one. A package arrives by bike courier, the contents are alarming, and all the best laid plans for the final elimination of Moriarty's enemies start to fall by the wayside. There is a traitor within Moriarty's organization, and the traitor has his scope set on Holmes and Watson.
