Summary
When Louis turns the phone towards him, Lestat feels his heart drop in his chest, an unimaginable ache fills him as his face contorts into half a smile, you’re fine, you’re fine, you’ll fix this, he thinks.
He hears his own voice speaking words that mean nothing. Bullshit. Louis can’t meet his eye, may never again.

Summary
There is no Lestat before what happened to him, Louis understands. Resented before the day he was even born.
He’s not going to wake up and understand it tomorrow.
Louis has to be patient. Lestat has eternity to get there.
It leaks through sometimes. Ever since that night in the car, the goddamn video. Something in Lestat is vulnerable and he can’t seem to keep things from spilling out.
Or maybe the signs were always there, but without context Louis never understood them.
