Summary
Leonard Gilbert- fraud mystic extraordinaire- finds himself in over his head when a trinket from Arthur's office displaces him from space and time as he knows it. He appears in a Waylay of the past, where he meets the Manager and gets assigned the seemingly impossible task of saving the multiverse.
How, you might ask?
Well, the Manager has a freshly-expired Arthur at his disposal, whose failed merging with the King in Yellow has just rendered yet another piano-key-universe incapable of stopping Kayne. He also has the malleable, somewhat pathetic soul of a lifelong con-man that might could salvage this disaster into something he can use.
---
A Scum Villain's Self-Saving System (SVSSS) AU where Leonard is "transmigrated" (sort of) into Season 1 Arthur + John, and forced to play through their story to buy time/as a backup for the Manager, because middle C!Arthur is busy with the actual world saving.
