Summary
Jean Grey was a hero, regardless of what insecurities may whisper. She had been one for eight long years. Years that she would never get back. Years that had taken everything from her, and left her with nothing. Years that made it difficult to keep going. In spite of that, she was still a hero.
Even if nobody else ever remembered. Even if nobody else knew. In spite of that, she was still a hero.
Everything she's touched, she's broken. Everyone she's held, she gets killed. In spite of that, she was still a hero.
Her life is little more than a fragile caricature. A masquerade pretending to be something sustainable. In spite of that, she was still a hero.
Until a shadow within New York City threatens to tear apart her delicate peace. Until it challenges everything she's built. Can she still be a hero, or was it all for nothing?
