Summary
Before the world ended, there were birthdays, Sunday dinners, summer barbecues, late-night conversations, and a thousand ordinary moments that never seemed important at the time.
For most of his life, Shane Walsh had known Emily Grimes as Rick’s daughter. The stubborn little girl who grew up arguing with everyone, bringing home injured animals, and refusing to listen when someone told her she couldn’t do something.
But somewhere between eighteen and twenty-three, things began to change.
Not all at once. Not in some grand, unforgettable moment.
Just a conversation that lasted a little too long. A smile he caught himself looking for. A boyfriend he disliked more than he probably should.
And eventually, the uncomfortable realization that Rick Grimes’ daughter had become someone he couldn’t quite stop thinking about.
A collection of pre-apocalypse one-shots following Emily Grimes and Shane Walsh through five years of ordinary moments, complicated feelings, and everything that happened before either of them understood what they were becoming.
Because sometimes, the beginning of a love story doesn’t look like a beginning at all.

Summary
Emily Grimes had always known how to save things.
At twenty-three, she was a veterinarian, Rick Grimes’ daughter, Carl’s older sister, and the owner of a wolf who had a habit of making strangers reconsider their life choices.
She also knew exactly what Shane Walsh was supposed to be.
Her father’s best friend.
Fourteen years older than her.
Off-limits.
And absolutely not the man she was supposed to be falling in love with.
Then Rick gets shot.
Not long after, the dead begin walking, civilization collapses, and all the rules Emily thought mattered are replaced by one brutally simple objective:
Survive.
With Ghost at her side and Shane closer than he has any right to be, Emily is thrown into a world where every decision has consequences — and where her very presence begins changing the story she was never supposed to be part of.
