Now all he has to do is wait for the Bracer staff to upload into him the personal identity of the man he had just sold his life to.
Summer 2895
The Bracer was initially created for diagnosed psychopaths and former convicted criminals to forge empathy. In reality, it is mostly used by bored oligarchs and their posterity to play pretend.
The criteria to become a Forger is to have what the Bracer deemed "an authentic life", and their job is to live their life while having their consciousness occasionally switched with that of a Pretender (i.e., the person needing a literal out-of-body experience to forge empathy.)
Itadori Yuuji is one such nepotistic listless baby, who notices the trappings of psychopathy in his own demeanor. Upon such discovery, he intends on becoming a Pretender, only for him to fall obsessively in love with his Forger while spiraling into addiction for the technology.

Gojo Satoru is one of Ryoumen Sukuna's rivals at the music studio. One day, Satoru noticed the scars all over Itadori Yuuji's face --- Itadori Yuuji being Sukuna's life partner, who will occasionally show up at the studio to bring for the latter his lunch.
Satoru and the other teachers at Toriko have always known of Sukuna's previous stint at the Bracer, a body-swapping technology, and the aftereffects of working such a strange job are everywhere for all the world to see.
Combine that with the scars on Yuuji's face? Satoru is worried about the implications.
