“Hyung,” Jeongguk wines, nuzzling his face into Taehyung’s hand. Taehyung bites his lip to hold back his laughter and looks at Jeongguk over his phone. “Pay attention to me, hyung.”
“God,” Taehyung says, clicking his phone shut. He tosses the device away and squishes both of Jeongguk’s cheeks between his hands; Jeongguk makes his eyes cross, and Taehyung laughs loudly, a grin splitting his face. “You’re so needy. Like a baby—a needy baby named Jeongguk.”
Jeongguk mumbles something in reply, but it’s muffled by Taehyung squishing his cheeks together so the older softens his hold and moves his hands to play with the younger's hair again. “I’m your needy baby, though.”

Taehyung’s lips quirk into a soft smile on their own and Jeongguk responds by pressing another quick kiss there, breath minty from brushing his teeth.
“Happy birthday, Tae,” Jeongguk says, placing two small boxes on the bed next to Taehyung’s face. He looks nervous as he traces the small bow on the smaller box, eyes bright as Taehyung’s mouth falls open in surprise.

He feels the misplaced anxiety in his throat, clogging up his lungs with every breath he takes and he closes his eyes, his hands balling up his duvet.
