Summary
The first two chapters follow Jamie Porter, who is decent at his job, gets along alright with his colleagues, likes his family well enough and is overall content with his life. He's also extremely adept at denial and self-destructive behaviour. When a newbie gets assigned to his patrol, a few things change - and isn't there a saying that things have to get worse before they get better?
