It would take all his strength not to throw his fist at the glass and scream for that reflection to return to him. Sometimes Zhou Mi would lie awake at night, unable to sleep as his treacherous mind spun a black web of doubts and lies that plagued him until he thought he would stop breathing.
This was a joy to write. It gave me yet another excuse to reread my Tolkien collection. I hope you like it despite it not being quite what you asked for. Beta'd by the amazing static_abyss.
