There’s a million reasons that can explain why Duke’s found himself living in Bruce Wayne’s manor and there’s a million more that can explain why this fact scares the living shit out of him.
The people here are the people that Duke’s looked up to ever since he first heard the names Batman and Robin. And now- what? He’s living with them?
Or, maybe, it'd be more apt to say that he lives in their shadows.
And he’s not sure he’ll be able to work his way up to their sides.
That’s not to say he’s not going to try. If there’s one thing that Duke Thomas does, it’s not giving up. He’s going to give this chance his all.
He just needs to find out where he fits.

Tim grit his teeth, and he was so angry, and Dick knew better then most that anger was a part of grief but there was something unsettling about how Timmy was acting. Dick was missing something, and he wouldn't even ask because whatever it was it almost certainly wasn't his business, so he wouldn't pry. He wasn't Bruce.
"Yes." Tim breathes, pursing his lips and speaking in a very carefully level tone. "She is."

"Red Hood." He introduced, trying to keep his voice firm enough to intimidate but not enough to scare. It's a pretty thin line to walk, with kids, but it's worth it. Even with misfits like this.
"The Kite." Shadowspinner says with complete conviction, nodding, and Jason rolled his eyes. Coming from a kid, this came off less as a creepy monolouge and more as a weird nursery rhyme.
"Oh? 'S that so, kid?" He asked, buying a bit of time for him to plan. What was he supposed to do with a kid like this?
"It must be." They affirmed, strangely wide blue eyes trailing from one of Jason's shoulders to the other. "You carry the coffin with you everywhere."
