Summary
One fateful night Regulus Black chooses to drive home drunk after a celebration of getting into Oxford. On his way, he crashes into a family of 3, and Remus Lupin loses his wife and son. Since Regulus was underage his name was never released as the drunk driver. After a decade spent in prison, Regulus goes to face his victim and lies about who he is at the last second, offering to clean still-grieving Remus's home for him as part of a local service. Remus allows it, and they get to know each other over several weeks, forming a deeper bond than Regulus could have anticipated.
All the while, a second Earth looms in the background, and a contest will allow a lucky winner to travel to what they've called Earth 2. Regulus has great motive to enter, but will he? And if he does, will he win? And if he does, will he go?
Most importantly: Will Regulus tell Remus the truth?
