Summary
For years, the North African Kingdom of Asran has been embroiled in a civil war between the Vashtar monarchy and Rahimist rebels. Both sides of the conflict deploy mercenaries to grant them a winning edge. An American woman named Ryoko Tsugumo discovers that her boyfriend, who mysteriously disappeared a year before, has resurfaced as a mercenary fighter pilot in Asran. She travels to Asran to find answers, where she finds herself in the middle of a catastrophe involving a horrifying new weapon.
