Summary
Jean Havoc isn't sure what to think about his soulmate.
He met him when he was first assigned to Colonel Roy Mustang’s command.
A small man with dark hair and big eyes, his glasses only magnifying them, whose hands practically worked magic on every piece of electronic equipment he touched. Kain Fuery, quiet and reserved unless he felt at ease – he joked, then, still a little quiet, but more open. There was humor in his eyes and a tilt of a smile at the corners of his mouth. Even his hands, always moving, always working, never still, constantly restless—even they were a part of him that drew him in.
Jean Havoc had never been a coward, not by his own measure, but he stared at the man whose name was his Name, and he stepped back.

Summary
Edward Elric had been right in front of him when the mine caved-in. The insane little alchemist had been running ahead, his red coat flaring out, the small gas lamp in his hands the only light paving the way. And now it was dark. And Jean couldn’t hear anything besides his own rapid breathing and the occasional rumble of earth and stone settling.
“Edward?”
OR: Jean Havoc knew he was being punished, when he was sent on a routine mine inspection with newly 13-year-old Edward Elric. Of course everything went wrong - but not even Jean could foresee just how much trouble the two of them would get into.
