Summary
The Doors universe is a very strange place. Souls drift in, do what they can to survive, and drift back out. Some vanish before their time, without escaping, while others struggle through over and over again until they finally overcome their various challenges. But the end is always the same: returning to where they had come from, back in the clutches of evil.
But the souls have always had one thing in common. They are adults, a concept never understood by those within the Doors until now.
When a child drops mysteriously into the Outdoors, on his own with no memory or inclination of how he had gotten there, dark questions arise. The guiding entities question everything they thought they knew about that world, and the guardian of the Outdoors is forced to make a difficult choice. Does he do what he has been doing for the past age, minding the grounds and protecting the realm as best as he can from the Lotus? Or does he drop everything to save the little one who has become so important to him?
