Summary
Caesar lets the notes ring out and slowly fade into silence. Well, it would be silence, if it weren't for an incessant dum da dada dum da dada dum of a practice pad just outside the door. Caesar rolls his eyes and sighs heavily. It's nearly two in the morning, why is anyone else even in the practice hall? He has an inkling of who it is and his stomach drops at the thought. He shoves himself from the bench and glares out the window in the door.
Joseph is sitting on the floor across the hall beside the marimba room. His hands flailing sticks at the practice pad in a measured pace. The muscles in his forearms popping in and out with the movement of his wrists. His unblinking aquamarine eyes staring directly at the door to Caesar's practice room.
