Summary
You can see much clearer now. All things previously hidden came forth, awash with light. This vision transcends time and prostrates across planes; becomes synonymous with knowledge, and there’s nowhere to hide from it, because you yourself are nowhere.
No… wrong. You simply aren’t.

Summary
Vox Machina, a group of powered vigilantes who saved the Governor's life and are now respectable heroes in the eyes of the public, might be hitting a complicated time in their careers. After finally getting used to the fame, the relative leniency they now had from the law when they were doing their hero work, the steady pay, and, arguably the best of all, a great decline in supervillains looking to ruin the city, they're met with a new, and much darker, story arc.
Percy has kept his very cliched tragic backstory from his friends, simply telling them was the only one who survived a brutal attack in his family and his family may have had prominent standing in a small city, but one can only run from their demons for so long before they come back, usually with more teeth. And, in a rare afternoon of relaxation when the news is running in the background, Percy hears the names "Delilah and Sylas Briarwood" and they're meeting with Governor Uriel Tal'Dorie to discuss building a road between Emon and Whitestone. What would normally be a case of boring politics is anything but when Percy tells his friends that the Briarwoods have other names, "The Lord and Lady", and are the supervillains who destroyed his entire life. -

Vax smiles again. “I missed you,” he says quietly.
The gash his death carved inside Keyleth is deep and dark, the edges long crusted over, except he’s pried those edges back open and they’re bleeding again. “I missed you too.”
Crow-like, Vax shuffles forward. “Can I kiss you?”

Summary
A figure rises out of the deeper darkness, a vaguely humanoid shape that seems to be made of shadow and wrapped in golden threads. As Molly watches, the figure unfurls massive black wings that would have put Yasha’s to shame and raises its head. Molly would have been surprised to see what looked like a half-elf with long brown hair wearing black leather standing before him, if he had been capable of surprise. Instead, Molly grins and claps his hands, in doing so discovering that even though he is dead, he seems to have a body of sorts.
“Most impressive!” Molly says. “Do I get wings as well? Do they come in purple? Ooo, no wait, blue. Or green? Gold? Silver?”

Summary
The last night of the Winter's Crest Festival goes by in a blur. Percy gives his sister a gift, a servant's twin children help out around the castle for spending money, the castle is flooded with visiting nobles and strangers. Two people are missing though, well, not missing. They've been taken off the guest list entirely.
Lord and Lady Briarwood are not people who take slights such as that so easily. And on the final day of the festival, when the ball is in full swing, the Briarwoods storm in and slaughter the family.
All but two.
Cassandra and Percival de Rolo are rescued by the twins, Vex'ahlia and Vax'ildan, before they can be found. The two young royals, the only remaining heirs to the de Rolo name, run to the train that runs across the river. And while Cassandra manages to get on and begin her trip to Emon, Percival falls unconscious after a fall.
When he wakes the next day the boy has no memory of who he is, only a gut feeling that he has to go to Emon.
It's years before the twins, now professional con artists, stumble upon a young man with white hair looking to go to Emon that they decide to present as the long lost lord for reward money. It's the Anastasia AU no one asked for

Summary
He’s taken on a great deal of the slack, though she knows that he never wanted any of it, no more than Cassandra ever did. Neither of them was prepared for it—it was always supposed to be Julius and Vesper. Cassandra can’t help but feel they would have done a much better job of it, but, Cassandra and Percival are the only de Rolos left, it’s not as though either of them has any choice in the matter.
Well—Cassandra glances up at Vex’ahlia again—she supposes they aren’t technically the only de Rolos anymore.
