An accident in Eden’s core sees Aldera stolen away by its mechanisms—mechanisms that soon grind into motion, drawing on the Warrior’s memory to create a waking dream of her past. With Aldera nowhere to be seen and the only hint of her being her erstwhile guide Fray—a man most kindly described as “prickly”, even if he is a manifestation of all her rage and fear—Thancred, Urianger, Ryne, and Gaia have little choice but to venture into the depths in search of their missing friend.
