All that was visible was outlines of the others body in the dark, just noticeable through the movement. “Shh, quiet Marcus or we’re gonna get caught before we even reach the goddamn car!”, the Brit explained, his voice just a bit more slurring from the alcohol running through their blood. Marcus asked himself why the hell they were slowly making their way through the Ferrari Formula 1 Garage in Monza, Italy. “Search for the light switch!”, he whisper-yelled to the other one like only drunk people could do.

Daniel knew why he was missing Max that much. But he didn’t know why he was regretting it so much. He chose to leave, and so he should stand by his decision.
He had thought Max would understand that he was only leaving the team, because he couldn’t be there anymore. The Dutch didn’t.
He decided he needed some time away. From Max, from Monaco, from his feelings. And so to New York he went. He knew the change of teams wouldn’t be easy, but he didn’t know that by choosing himself, he’d be hurting Max that much.

Daniel had had a particularly bad weekend. He had a bad race, finishing in P4, which wasn’t at all that bad, but the being so close to getting to the podium made it all the more bittersweet. Max had won, and he was happy for the man, and he couldn’t help but be jealous of the girl he was dating, who would probably get to closely celebrate with the Dutch, and he just wanted it to be him.
His hand was freshly out of the cast, which meant no more pain medicine, which meant that he could do what he did best to forget, finally drink his feelings away.
