    Wei Ying shrugged. “I… don’t know. How do you? Whoever you are, you’re not a ghost, you’re magic.” Wei Ying wrapped his fingers over the top of where Lan Zhan's held his arm. “Don’t ever let me go.”

    The cold rain fell, their soaking robes, the fog started to cloud the area, as they entered the forest seeking for safety. They settled near a tree, the white robed cultivator leaned his companion on the tree, he carefully inspected the other one's stomach injury.

    He started transferring spiritual energy in order for the wound to stop bleeding, he halted when he heard a wet laugh "Why laugh?" the white robed man inquired.

    The black robed cultivator answered, "Nothing, just something funny" he paused letting out another tired laugh, "When everyone admired my power and wanted to flatter me, you're the only one who scolded me. But right now, when everyone wants me to die and hates me, you are the only one standing by me."

    His mind was getting clouded, black spots filled his vision and he started to cough blood. The last thing he heard before he fell unconscious was a worried call of his name.

     

    "And cut !"

    Ever since the marriage between Jiang Lian and Jin Zixuan, Lan Wangji has been making regular visits to the Burial Mounds to deliver letters. Wen Ning reflects on how this has changed things at the Burial Mounds, and in particular the effect it's had, and continues to have, on Wei Wuxian.

    Once the newest batch of letters are dispersed to their intended recipients, Wen Ning reads A-Yuan's letter to him from Jiang Lian. And later, all the residents of the Burial Mounds get together for dinner and some merry-making, and Wen Ning observes Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji growing closer (read: pining ridiculously).

    “I was thinking a bit on my way here,” Lan Xichen said suddenly, grabbing everyone’s attention. “I know that the Yiling Patriarch is said to be so evil and heartless, but...I haven’t heard of anything he’s done since the Jin Slaughter 13 years ago, maybe-”

    “Xichen!” The rest of the crew jumped, unused to hearing Lan Wangji raise his voice. In fact, they could probably count the amount of times the captain had raised his voice on one hand. Lan Xichen’s eyes widened, seeing the cold expression on his brother's face.

    “We have no time for sympathy. Go up and tell the juniors the plan and get those thoughts out of your head.” Lan Wangji stated coldly, his expression stoney and hard. Lan Xichen blinked in surprise and stood, giving the man a small, curt bow.

    “Forgive me Wangji, that was out of place. I will go alert the juniors.” With that, Lan Xichen left, his footsteps trailing off into nothingness as he grew further away. Lan Wangji paid no mind to the looks his crew was giving him, simply standing up and making his way to his personal courters and trying to ignore the sour taste in his mouth.

    He knew he was right, he had no choice but to be right.
