Bodhi’s story starts the year before Fourth Wing and creates necessary plot points before following the course of events as presented in the books (with only a few deviations). There will be Fourth Wing and Iron Flame spoilers.

It’s often difficult to tell who’s truly on your side, especially in a place where the goal is to kill or be killed. However, when you involve magic, a rebellion, dragons, and a large-scale war, ‘difficult’ becomes too simple of a word. ‘Impossible’ is more appropriate.
While Violet and Xaden are worried about keeping the rebellion, Brennan and Aretia a secret, another player has been added to the board. One that has grown tired of hiding in the shadows and is ready to step into the light.

Summary
In order for King Tauri to agree to the Tyrrendor succession, he ordered all children of the rebels to be executed while their parents watched. Except he wasn't anticipating the smallest daughter of General Sorrengail to step in front of The Great Betrayer's son, begging to either be killed with him or strike a deal. He relents, letting his General decide what to do and while he's merciful and let's them live, they are marked and sentenced to compulsory attendance in the Rider's Quadrant at Basgiath.
This idea came from a hauntingly beautiful rendition of the Bosnian hymn Kad Pracvatu Behari, sung by Adna. It colors a picture of red dusk that provides a false sense of calmness one might expect to see after battle has ceased, before the impact has really hit you.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this yet, but time will tell.
