The coffee on base is complete shit. Which is why whenever the higher-ups give him leave, Arthur finds himself driving the half an hour to the next town over to spend $1.95 on a large cup of joe at the town’s resident coffee house, The Stomping Ground.
Some day, Arthur has often found himself thinking, he’s going to order a sandwich or a scone or something, one item off the handful that are written in chalk up on the wall behind the registers.
Today, however, is not that day. He will, in fact, be lucky if he can grab his coffee. Which, as it so happens, is in another man’s grasp at the moment...

Arthur knows Eames from way back in the army. Typical, somewhat slow story through the years. Exceptionally late love confession - even sex took forever.
Includes moments such as a Vegas holiday during army, being neighbours on a beach (Santa Monica?), hitting in a wall with a hammer, kissing in a church and buying it as well as some "forever"-together-deal with an apron fantasy.
