He’s still smiling, but I watch as it loses all mirth. “I remember the names and faces of the men that owe me,” he tells me, and though he says it calmly, without anger or ill-will, I can still feel the hairs on my arm rise. “All of them. I remember their habits, the tables they lost their money on. I can recall the whites of their eyes when they realise they owe me.” He pauses. “I have no recollection of that name.”
I don’t realise I’m shaking until his hands find mine, covering it entirely.
“Shall I help you?” he murmurs, taking another half-step towards me, the edge of the pin dragging deeper as he draws nearer. I can feel his breath on me.
He guides my hand to a softer part of his neck. “Cutting a man’s neck is not as straightforward as one might think,” he warns me. “It’s a bloody affair, but you’ve already proven yourself comfortable with —”
Alarmed, I drop the pin. “No. Stop it. I — I don’t want to do this anymore.”
He smiles again, and it’s the most insufferable and arrogant sight I think I’ve ever laid eyes upon. I hate him, I realise.
“As I thought,” he says, and just like that, he steps back, releasing me.

With Grandmaster Starrick defeated, Jacob and Evie Frye find they need to strengthen their hold on London to ensure it does not revert back to the Templars. Jacob finds himself travelling to Paris to pay a visit the Assassins of France to learn how they were able to hold Paris for centuries. There he meets Master Assassin Arno Dorian, who has been tasked to show Jacob the Brotherhood's ongoings.
(Both games are canon and this takes place after both games - time is irrelevant! No time travelling, we're just going to ignore the time gap between games!)
