Grimmjow, silent up to that moment, growled at ‘bitch boy’ and went to swipe at Karin. Ichigo started to move, but Karin was faster. Giggling, she dodged out of his grasp and stuck her tongue out at him. Ichigo stared. This day was really fucking weird.

An unholy screech of pure agony and frustration snaps Uryu from his own musings as he watches Ichigo, the shinigami was practically shaking in place. His triumph, which could be considered “death-defying”, had obviously taken a toll on him, but the same fact stands for all those participating in this bloody, brutal war.
That was it, it was all over Ichigo had won against Yhwach; what more could've happened? He would grow old with Orihime, have a kid, and become a full fledge shinigami when he died. Right?

Ichigo used his spirit as a barrier and his soul as a battery to protect his loved ones from a corrosive inter-dimensional space. This left him in a coma for several years after they arrived safely in a super powered world full of quirks.
Kazui Kurosaki wants to become a hero that would make his father proud. Orihime struggles with single parenthood and paying for Ichigo’s medical bills. Her shun-shun-rikka only makes his condition worse. Uryuu is a world-class surgeon, and Chad has been working as a pro hero in the rescue sector for a while. Yuzu runs a cute cafe, and Karin is a sidekick at Chad’s hero agency.
Ichigo wakes up to a city on fire and the screams of desperate people.
