Summary
I've never had what one would call an easy life. The Temple who raised me up as their Oracle, turned against me when the truth of my curse came to light. After fleeing from the Temple, I made my way to Eridia. I naively thought the Senobium would be my new salvation. Turns out they don't take too kindly to people coming up to the gates asking for help. Several broken ribs later, I'd learned another hard lesson about life.
I say all that to say, I've been through it more than a few times. But it feels like this time, things are going in the right direction. I've made unexpected friends in unexpected places. I still have my curse but I'm living with it. I'm finally starting to make a name for myself apart from 'cursed one' or 'abomination'. Life's not perfect, but it's mine.
Little did I know that my foundations are about to crumble all around me. Because when things seem too good to be true, they often are.

The Senobium’s image isn’t so luminous as it’s praised to be, but Xiao isn’t completely deterred from getting access into the Senobium.
He’ll just need to be more patient and learn how to survive in Eridia.

Something touches my shoulder and I reflexively swing my hand in the vague direction, potato still clutched tight. It's not connected yet. I realise distantly that that's good, could've caused a nasty chain reactions with the rest of the setup.
I'm not moving anymore, someone caught my wrist. I refocus my vision. And stare at Leanders face, his wide eyed expression, the flat end of a zink nail only centimeters away from it.
Mhins hold eases up when I pull against their restraint and I slowly set the potato down. I try to say something, but I feel more than hear the stuttering weeze I release instead. It hurts, now that I've noticed it. Like a cramp. It's loud, it must be.
So why am I not hearing it? Shouldn't I hear it? The ... The Wet Wick is full of people, they're louder. That's why I'm not hearing it.But I'm not hearing that either.

Yes yes yes yes I would mind you should run far far away from me I don’t want to hurt you but I will if you keep getting close. “Do what you like.” They say with a shrug, making space for you to come stand next to them, watching close as you lean against the wall, your proximity making the tension in their shoulders dissipate a bit, the pain in their face a little less noticeable.
