Walking back to the Eastern tower, William mostly watched his feet as he balanced on the stones. Tap tap tap. He skipped across them. Childish, really, but it made him smile and that was reason enough. Something made him look up, however, a shiver in his spine. Someone was watching him.
He scanned the many windows of the palace, searching for a pair of eyes trained on him, when he spotted a girl he hadn’t seen before looking out the window of a tower, not unlike the one he now lived in. They locked eyes. He couldn’t make her out clearly from the distance, but he could see her silver hair drifting in the breeze. For a moment, they both sat there, taking in each other’s presence. He was about to call out, ask for her name, but before he could, the mysterious girl closed the shutters and rushed away. It was only then that William realized the tower he was looking at was located in the North wing. The forbidden North wing. Where no one, not even the Archmage, perhaps not even the King, was allowed to go.
Or, a fantasy revenant au where William is a mage's apprentice and Ashe is the princess trapped in the castle.

Lightspeed knows logically that weeks of her life, alongside her teammates’, have all been building up to this. She knows just how the… The villain in that interrogation room sent dozens of towers up in flames and massacred anyone who got in his way.
And yet, all she sees is a pale, too-thin kid getting swallowed by his own jacket.

Dakota Cole had aspired to be a hero ever since he saw them soaring over the skyline of New Haven saving the day. And now here he was, kicking criminals as the hero D.C.
Vyncent, William, and Ashe, however, never imagined themselves as anything near heroic, so they continued with their lives without ever becoming heroes. Unfortunately, villains don't care if you're wearing a cape or not. But Dakota- D.C.- will be there for them, no matter what.
{basically: only Dakota became a superhero. The other three are normal kids with terrifying problems}

Summary
William Wisp's life was normal, not perfect, but normal. He had plenty of friends, was getting okay grades, and his parents are pretty good all things considered. Well his normal life came to a close when he woke up one day with fire powers and terrifying monsters known as the Fallen began causing death and destruction in every city and town they overtook. The end of the world was upon them, and William doesn't know how much time he has left. Until he meets a group of survivors who think he might be the key to stopping the Fallen and saving the world. Only question is if they'll all live long enough to make that happen.
Or, The Prime Defenders at the end of the world, and the friends they make along the way.

Today is a terrible day for William Wisp.
You would think that being the lead singer and lyricist of the hit band PD would mean he would only worry about swimming in money, go on tour and convince his other members to visit another haunted house for "inspiration". But no.
Instead he has to suffer for his old mistakes.
He thought everyone forgot about his terrible past but instead it was haunting him in more insidious ways."Wiwi! Stop having an emo arc in front of the mirror!" Dakota's voice could be heard from the other room. "I need the bathroom and I can't wait for you to get over the auction of the autograph you did with your mom's signature!"

Maybe it wasn't a spine thing. Maybe it's a brain thing? That could be why he can't remember anything. Not even his own name at the moment. He knows it's important. Who he is. If someone found him here surely they'd be able to tell him his name. He doesn't want to die and not have someone know who he is.
Die?
That can't be right. He can't be dead. Dead people do not think. He is thinking a lot. Too much brain activity going on to be a corpse.
But...
He can't move.
